Communications Studies
Dr Grace Omondi is a visual, risk, and crisis communication researcher whose work focuses on expanding models and frameworks connecting visuals to risks and crises, and applying these to professional practice. In a world that is inherently visual and increasingly crisis-prone, Grace is interested in understanding what type of visuals shape risk perception, contribute to sensemaking, and mitigate infodemics during risk and crisis contexts. Her critical research in visual and crisis communication and specialized insights shaping public engagement during crises has driven participation, strategic collaborations, and speaking opportunities with partners such as the UN Office of CounterTerrorism, the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security, and the WHO Collaborating Centre (CC) on Risk Communication, Community Engagement and Infodemic Management (RCCE-IM).
