I am a performance researcher and practitioner currently based in Hungary. After years in amateur theatrical performances, I studied for a BA in Theatre Studies at the University of Malta, training and performing with Icarus Performance Project (2005-2008). In 2008, I read for my MA in World Performance at Aberystwyth University in Wales studying Comparative Dramaturgies and Devised Performance. I worked on several performance projects (Malta, China, Japan, The Gambia), including serving as an Artistic Director for the NGO Opening Doors that ran a theatre group for adults with learning disabilities, along with several other outreach programmes. My range of experience in diverse settings is a testament to my interest in communities, beliefs, and practices. In my daily life, I look towards somatic practices, gardening, food, and the degrowth movement to inspire my ecological responses. This curiosity continues to lead my path as I finish my PhD "Jola Masquerdes as Ecoperformance" at the University of Exeter, under the supervision of Prof Heike Roms and Prof Jerri Daboo. I am supported by the Malta Tertiary Education Scholarship Scheme and carry out this study by distance.
