Alix Harris is a Director and Theatre Practitioner bases in the South West. Most recently her directing credits include Alright Petal? 2,000 stories for her company Beyond Face and I am because we are by Cheryl Martin for Contact Theatre, Manchester. Over the past 12 years Alix has worked for the Barbican Theatre, Plymouth and Theatre Royal Plymouth as a practitioner. Her work as a practitioner and Director with the Indra Congress CIC has led her to work internationally in Palestine and South Africa using the arts to work with communities to communicate global and local issues prevalent to them. In 2015 Alix founded Beyond Face CIC a theatre company who’s mission is to raise the profile and visibility of people of colour on stages*. Alix works as a guest Director for Falmouth and Plymouth University and is a lecturer in Drama for the University of Exeter. She is currently working as Assistant Director for the Theatre Royal Plymouth 2020 large scale international production This Land for the Mayflower 400 commemorations, Directed by Slunglow’s Alan Lane.
