Fangming Cheng

Hi, I'm Fangming Cheng (Viola), a PhD student researching how theatre can help prevent intimate partner violence among university students and promote healthy relationships.

I began my performance journey at age 11 with my first television drama and was trained in Peking Opera (huadan role). I’ve since created and performed in over 20 stage plays. I also founded a theatre studio producing large-scale commercial shows, some reaching over 2,000 audience members.

My current work focuses on solo performance, feminist theatre, self-revelation and autoethnography. I believe that engaging, accessible theatre is key to raising awareness of intimate partner violence and inspiring meaningful change.
