Sarah Scaife (she/her)

I am a visual and sound artist, and postgraduate researcher in Creative Health. My current PhD enquiry explores Medicines of Uncertainty, with a particular focus on life after cancer treatment. This enquiry combines practice-based, participatory and creative approaches. Drawing on lived-experience, I am interested in how the potent space of creative uncertainty might refine and expand closed cultural scripts around uncertainty in health.

This PhD is co-supervised by Dr Bryan Brown, University of Exeter (Department of Communications, Drama and Film) and Dr Maria Vaccarella, University of Bristol (Department of English), and funded by the South, West and Wales Doctoral Training Partnership for UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). I have an ongoing collaboration in the community with Soundart Radio 102.5FM.
