Surangama Guha (she/her)

I hold a MA Sociology from Jadavpur University, India, and a MA with Distinction in Media and Communications from Goldsmiths, University of London. After completing my degree at Goldsmiths, I joined the academia in India. There I was engaged as Assistant Professor of Sociology under the University Grants Commission wherein I taught at two different colleges in Kolkata, and then went on to serve as Assistant Professor of Sociology at Stella Maris College, Chennai, one of the most prestigious women's institutions in the country.

Currently I am a postgraduate research scholar at Exeter, at the Department of Communications, Drama and Film. My work lies at the intersection of Indian film studies, star studies, visual culture and South Asian Studies.
