Zhan Xiao

I am Zhan Xiao, a Chinese filmmaker based in London.

I pay more attention to recording the bits and pieces of life during filming. This allows me to develop a good habit of daily shooting. There is no deliberate lens design, no script lines arranged in advance, and I am good at discovering the beautiful things in life. Accidents encountered in life often surprise me, I slow down my life rhythm to feel each lived moment. ​

I have directed and produced "I Come from the Fog" My first director feature film, Award of the Best Student Film at Hong Kong World Film Festival 2021 ;

My first personal documentary"Kent or Cant", is The official selection of The London International Smartphone Film Festival 2021.

And I am currently developing a documentary project which I explore the Human Experience and Emotions in Film, focusing on Companionship, which involves growing up, caring, communicating, being alone during the pandemic.
